If you are a fan of a thriller then Special Ops is the perfect pick for you to indulge in binge-watch during this quarantine.


Synopsis
Special Ops is an 8 episode series of 40 to 50 minutes each streaming on Hotstar Special. The series is directed by Neeraj Pandey and Shivam Nair. The story revolves around a terror attack plotted by terrorists in the Parliament during 2001. However, in the attack, all five terrorists loose get killed by the army and police. When the case goes for trial, R&AW officer Kay Kay Menon (as Himmat Singh) is given the charge of looking into the issue. After investigation, a new theory comes to fore that the terror attack comprised of 6 terrorists and not 5. Back to the present, there is an audit investigation going on against Himmat Singh for elevated expenses. On the other hand, there is a special operation to get to the depth of the attacks and the brainchild behind it.

Through the 8 episodes, truth is unfolded and a keeps becoming more interesting:
·         Did the attack really comprise a 6th person or was it a wild guess?
·         Where did Himmat Singh spend so much of money?
·         Who is helping Himmat Singh in his operation?
·         Will the operation or investigation be successful or be yet another failure?

Why should you watch Special Ops?

·         Casting is one of the strong points of Special Ops. Kay Kay Menon is awe-inspiring in his role as Himmat Singh. Whether it is playing the R&AW officer, a husband or as a father, none of the parts are cliched. From his timing of dialogue, calm demeanor and shrewdness of a thoughtful officer everything is justified .


·         The supporting cast including Vinay Pathak, Gautami Kapoor, Karan Tacker, Sajjad Delafrooz is very inspiring. They all are show stealers along with Kay Kay Menon leading the show.


·         The series has beatifically blend few real instances into fiction thereby giving it a realistic touch.
·         The music score earns another brownie point. It adds the perfect sense of curiosity to the scenes.


·         Actions scenes are excellent. It is something to watch out for.
·         Each episode is alternatively directed by Neeraj Pandey and Shivam Nair. But hardly do you find it deviating or going in tangents.


·         The starting two episodes may seem dragged but later catches pace and surely keeps you hooked to know ‘WHATS NEXT?’
·         An amazing series to indulge in this Quarantine.


A must-watch thriller during this quarantine. So if you have not yet installed Hotstar, do it soon because it is truly worth your time! You will surely wait for Season 2 to air soon!
